Synopsis

In June 2001, more than 100 employees from the so-called No.1 newspaper of Taiwan were laid off. They protested for 6 months against the media power, the incompetent government, and the indifferent social values. Two years later after the longest white-collar worker's protest in Taiwan, did anything change? Have the former employees change?

Director Statement

" Having a job has always seemed natural to me. As long as I had the willingness and the ability, there was always a 'job' that belonged to me. Therefore, before I turned forty, I frequently switch from job to job, expecting to 'experience different lives.'

Because of the protest, I only then discovered, after turning forty, that having a 'job' certainly is not natural. After being unemployed, I only then realized what 'the laborer' truly is." - Liao, De-Ming
