Introduction

Chen-Yi Wu is a Taiwanese multidisciplinary artist now based in Philadelphia, USA. Having been cultivated by literature, theater, and filmmaking, her work is often hybrid and focuses on how different media work in narration. Recently Chen-Yi worked as the visual designer and animator on “TaKeTonBo” (竹とんぼ), a table reading performance that features an ordinary family who lived in 1940’s Taiwan under Japanese Occupation. She is the grantee of Philadelphia Independent Media Fund in 2021 for her work-in-progress documentary “Separation”,which tells the overseas experience of three millennial immigrant Taiwanese artists during the pandemic and post-pandemic era. Chen-Yi is the fellow of UnionDoc Early Production Lab in 2021, and the fellow of 2022 Patchwork: Film and Poetry at CounterClock Literature. Her collaborative performance project “Where Are You Today?” is selected in 2022 Art in Odd Places: Story.
